With the growing interest in placenta encapsulation, many pregnant women are looking for the right method, trusted service offering, and insurance that their placenta is prepared safely. In light of recent findings by the CDC surrounding an incorrectly processed placenta, we’d like to take a moment to highlight our safety standards when working with you and your organ.
We Abide by the World Health Organization’s Transport Safety Guidelines
Our encapsulation specialists abide by the rigorous training standards from our certifying body, Placenta Benefits, Inc. By following the World Health Organization’s Transport guidelines for organs, we can assure that the placenta is being handled with the utmost safety, care and lowest risk of contamination. These standards include keeping the placenta in watertight and leak proof containers, on ice or refrigerated below a temperature where bacteria can grow.
We Use a 10% Bleach Solution - On EVERYTHING
When your specialist arrives, they will begin by sanitizing a space in your kitchen, the sink, and all areas they will be working with a bleach solution to eliminate any traces of bacterial contamination. All items brought for the encapsulation process will be sanitized in kind; as many throwaway items are utilized as possible, from pokers to cutting boards. All reusable items are stainless steel. The same process is repeated after the placenta has been prepared.
We Come To Your Home
One of the benefits of encapsulating with BAPE is that we entrust the transport of the placenta to the client! At no time after proper containment is assured is the placenta out of a clients’ care. We bring all of our own materials to the home of the client so there is complete transparency before, during and after the process, for not only peace of mind but assurance of thorough care.
We Are Trained and Certified
By attending an in person training and completing several hours of placentophagy coursework, our clients enjoy knowing that we are prepared to follow all sanitation standards and also inspect and examine the placenta for abnormalities and reasons to halt the process at any time during encapsulation. We also provide quite a bit of anecdotal information about the placenta while clients are home, allowing them to learn a bit more about the process.
We Steam The Placenta and Dehydrate it at a Temperature that Kills Bacteria
By steaming the placenta for 15-20 minutes above boiling water, we allow the organ to come up to a cooked temperature appropriate for consumption. Any remaining risk of contamination is eliminated when that organ is then sliced and placed upon the dehydrator and removed of moisture at a high temperature, above which bacteria can live.
We Provide Safe Dosage Instructions
After completing the placenta pills, we go over thoroughly dosage and storage instructions for the best results with each and every client. This allows you to be confident that you’re delivering the right nutrients back to your body, safely.
We Are On Call For Questions
Even after we leave a clients’ home, we’re not finished with our service of care. We’re always on call for questions, and continue to check up on each of our placenta clients throughout their dosage months to see how they’re feeling and help them navigate their postpartum recovery.
If you feel comfortable and confident in your certified specialist, you will enjoy your experience with encapsulation in a controlled environment, allowing you to thrive during your postpartum with your new baby!
